Temperature not holding
Verify the setting with an independent thermometer placed in the center of the cooler for 24 hours. Check the door gasket — wine coolers are more sensitive to gasket leaks than refrigerators because the temperature range is narrower. Clean the condenser coils — dust reduces cooling efficiency. Ensure the cooler isn’t overpacked — wine bottles must have airflow between them.
One zone wrong, other zone correct
The dual-zone damper separating the two zones may be stuck or failed. This damper controls airflow between zones — when it fails, both zones equalize to the same temperature. The zone-specific NTC sensor may also be reading incorrectly.
Excessive vibration
Level the cooler precisely — even a slight tilt increases vibration. Check the compressor isolation mounts — rubber mounts degrade over time, transferring compressor vibration to the cabinet and bottles. Excessive vibration disturbs wine sediment and can accelerate aging.
Musty odor inside
Replace the activated carbon filter — this is the most common cause. Clean the interior with baking soda solution. Check the drain line — standing water in the drip tray can grow mold. Leave the door ajar for a few hours after cleaning to air out the cavity.
Condensation on glass door
Some condensation in humid environments is normal. Excessive condensation means the door gasket is leaking, allowing humid room air inside. The anti-condensation heater (thin heating element around the door frame) may have failed — this is designed to keep the glass just warm enough to prevent condensation.
