What is Home Connect?
Home Connect is Thermador’s smart home platform that connects compatible appliances to your smartphone. Monitor cycle status on your dishwasher, adjust oven temperature remotely, get alerts when the refrigerator door is left open, and track energy usage across all connected Thermador appliances. The app is available for iOS and Android.
Compatible Thermador appliances
Most current Thermador appliances include Home Connect Wi-Fi: Star Sapphire and Emerald dishwashers, Freedom Column refrigerators and freezers, wall ovens (Masterpiece and Professional), and select cooktops. Check your model’s spec sheet for the Home Connect logo.
Setup process
1. Download the Home Connect app. 2. Create an account. 3. On the appliance, enter the Wi-Fi setup mode (varies by appliance — check the manual). 4. In the app, select “Add Appliance” and follow the on-screen pairing wizard. 5. Connect to your home Wi-Fi network through the app. 6. The appliance will appear in your dashboard once connected.
Useful features
Dishwasher: Start/stop cycles remotely, get notification when cycle ends, monitor rinse aid level. Oven: Preheat remotely before you get home, monitor cooking progress, get alerts when target temperature is reached. Refrigerator: Door-open alerts, temperature monitoring, filter replacement reminders. General: Energy monitoring, troubleshooting assistance, service scheduling.
Troubleshooting connection issues
Appliance must be within Wi-Fi range (not behind thick walls or metal). 2.4 GHz network required (most appliances don’t support 5 GHz). If connection drops frequently, check for Wi-Fi interference from other appliances. Factory reset the appliance’s Wi-Fi module and re-pair if issues persist.
