Sensor codes
E1 — Temperature sensor open: No resistance reading from the NTC sensor. Oven cannot regulate temperature — do not use until repaired. Sensor wire may be broken at the oven wall where heat exposure is highest.
Door and mechanical codes
E3 — Door lock failure: Self-clean lock mechanism didn’t complete its cycle. If door is stuck locked, power off and wait for full cool-down. Lock motor, latch, or switch needs service.
E6 — SoftClose fault (Professional): Hydraulic damper not functioning. Door slams instead of closing gently. Safe to use — comfort feature only. Hinge replacement needed.
Element codes
E4 — Bake element open: Bottom element has burned through. Oven won’t heat in bake mode but broil may still work.
E5 — Broil element open: Top element failed. Bake mode still works.
System codes
E7 — Steam system fault: Generator, reservoir, or drain issue in steam-capable ovens. Non-steam modes still work.
E8 — Cooling fan failure: Cabinet cooling fan not running. Risk of heat damage to surrounding cabinetry. Limit oven use until repaired.
When to call a technician
E1 (safety — uncontrolled heating possible), E4/E5 (element replacement), E8 (cabinet damage risk). E3 and E6 can wait for scheduled service. E7 only affects steam mode.
