Panel-ready installation
All Thermador dishwashers are panel-ready — designed to accept a custom cabinetry panel on the door. The panel must not exceed the weight specification in the installation manual (typically 10-15 lbs). Exceeding this weight stresses hinges, latches, and door cables, leading to premature wear and E-code failures. The panel thickness and mounting bracket dimensions must match Thermador’s template exactly.
Water supply requirements
Hot water supply (120°F recommended) with a dedicated shutoff valve. Supply hose should be the braided stainless steel type included with the unit — do not reuse old hoses. Water pressure must be 20-120 PSI. The AquaStop valve (leak protection) mounts at the supply valve connection, not at the dishwasher.
Electrical connection
Dedicated 120V, 15-amp circuit. Thermador dishwashers use a junction box connection, not a standard plug. The circuit must not be shared with a garbage disposal — this can cause voltage drops during the wash cycle.
Drain connection
The drain hose must include a high loop (minimum 20″ above the floor) or connect through an air gap. This prevents backflow from the sink or disposal. Do not extend the drain hose beyond the factory length without verifying the pump can handle the additional head pressure.
Leveling and securing
Level the dishwasher front-to-back and side-to-side using the adjustable feet. Secure to the underside of the countertop with the mounting brackets. An unlevel dishwasher causes drainage issues, door alignment problems, and panel gaps.
