E1 — Induction coil fault
A specific zone’s induction coil has failed. The zone won’t heat any cookware. Other zones continue working normally. Causes: coil failure, inverter board issue, or wiring problem. Requires technician diagnosis — the glass may need removal to access the coil.
E2 — Freedom Induction sensor array error
The full-surface sensor matrix can’t detect cookware position. Remove all items, clean the surface thoroughly, try a single pan. If E2 persists, sensor array or control module needs service. This code is specific to Freedom Induction models.
E3 — Overtemperature protection
A zone shut down because the glass surface exceeded the safety limit. Remove the pan and wait 10 minutes. Ensure cooling fan beneath cooktop has clear airflow. Frequent E3 suggests the cooling fan has failed.
E4 — Cookware not detected
Not an error in the traditional sense — the zone can’t detect compatible cookware. Check with a magnet (must stick firmly to pan bottom). Ensure pan covers at least 60% of the zone. Center the pan. If compatible cookware triggers E4, the zone sensor may be faulty (rare).
E5 — Power supply voltage out of range
The cooktop is receiving voltage outside 208-240V AC. Check the circuit breaker (both poles of a double-pole breaker). If E5 persists, an electrician needs to measure voltage at the terminal block.
E6 — Touch control calibration error
Controls not responding correctly. Clean the control area thoroughly with a dry cloth. Remove anything resting on the controls. Power cycle at the breaker. If E6 persists, the touch panel or control board needs replacement.
